That last bit is really the issue that led to the shut down. They stopped staying independent and were bought by a big company years and years ago. That company was then bought by someone else who then sold it and it was bought and sold and bought and sold until we got to Warner Bros which likes to kill things just for funsies.

I really hope that the talented creators they had can find a way to branch out independently like Dropout managed to when College Humor was getting shut down.

GOG is also a filter too. Everything in the whole store you know is DRM free when with other stores you have to check each game individually.

Steam is also a form of DRM in most cases though either way.

Well they are most known for Red vs Blue but since then they branched out into a bunch of smaller brands. Fun Haus, Slow Mo Guys, Achievement Hunter etc etc. they were a full media company instead of just a machinma group.

It’s saying that instead of spending all the resources needed to gather all of the training data for the LLM, just give a junior dev some coffee as the input instead.

The direct comparison is input and output. Coffee/training data is the input and the code is the output.

I wouldn’t say you HAVE to know the original but it’s pretty common in memes for text to be replaced and the person doing the replacing to not know the original font.

I meant specifically the shortened version FUD which became popular because of Bitcoin and Twitters limited letter count. Talking about fear uncertainty and doubt all together is definitely not a new idea.

This is unrelated to the post itself but I really hope Lemmy and the fediverse as a whole don’t start using terms like FUD that originated with Crypto. Crypto went exceptionally badly and was wrought with scams and we should be doing as much as possible to distance ourself from that.

Edit: I’ll take my losses here. The term is much older than it’s recent use in popular culture despite my own lack of experience hearing it prior. I do however stand by wanting to distance from the cryptocurrency crowd as much as possible.
