Thanks for the suggestions! 😃 I will take the two phone method into consideration in the future.
I see, perhaps changing my approach & mindset towards privacy is the next thing I should work on.
Will definitely still do more stuff like boxing & containing non private services.
Thanks for the suggestions!
I will give more office alternatives a shot, and see Windows more as a “tool” that I don’t prefer, rather than something to banish.
And yeah, Google sees all on stock android. I definitely will make Pixel+ custom ROMs my top choice when I next switch phones.
Guess I tried to push privacy a bit too fixated. Thx for the reminder👍.
Being subscribed to this community taught me that even if you trust the company you’re giving your data to(Don’t trust any), it’s still only a matter of “when” it will be leaked not “if”.
It’s just a good rule of thumb that all data you give will end up open/sold.
Typing this on a Zenfone 10.
The good thing is that this phone don’t really have bad querks like ZF8&9, and the 2 years update only means not getting new android features, Zenfone still works perfectly fine a long time after the 2 year mark.
And yes, Asus has been quite an A** hole in the whole bootloader situation, but putting that aside there are still plenty of ways to tinker a phone without root(Fdroid, adb, launcher, netguard, etc…).
I would say If custom ROMs are too important for you, get a Pixel, they are just that good with it.
But if you are willing to look past that, Zenfones are great.
And the science gets done, and you made a neat distro.
For the people who are using linux.
One tip for Olauncher is that you can put emojies in the app’s names! It makes things a lot less text heavy.
Super Tux Kart and MineTest. Both are on fdroid and have amazing modding capabilities . I will say modding them is part of the fun too.
I would say it’s worth it! Pure anonymity is unachievable, it’s more about putting as much roadblock on the way as possible.
Like… making yourself harder to find by another guy. Not allowing big tech to have your data in an arms reach.
Treat privacy like a fun game, go as far and as slow as you like. It’s totally fine to take a break and do more once you’re motivated to do so.
I think it just mean you blocked/restricted these app’s internet access.
