Wondering if these are reasons but need someone knowledgable to answer

• does the mains breaker have a limited amount of resets / duty cycle?
• is it bad for the whole house to trip sometimes? For me having to reset electronics, potential data loss etc makes it annoying.
• is there a potential for surging when the mains is flicked back on from everything starting simultaneously?

Was it a Samsung phone? They’ve had Dex for some time but it was a Samsung specific feature as far as I know.

Clearly you are not the target audience. For IT pros and tech enthusiasts regularly rebuilding machines and running numerous diagnostic tools from boot, the ability to quickly bootstrap a machines is a massive timesaver. dd is slower and may mean carrying around a lot of usb sticks, something these people all graduated from.

X86 configs were painful and fun. Knowing a wrong setting might destroy your monitor was the right amount of adrenaline.

Overseas devs have had the random screenshot to prove productivity happening for a while now. There’s a hundred ways around it. Most common is a second computer next to you dev machine.

This is good. There are probably some edge cases for this. I work in IT for some companies using industrial automation. Being able to roll back and watch what people do when errors or problems occur is a good feature. Similarly on high value servers I would like this as well.

Being able to turn it on is better than having to apply policies to disable. I don’t see this as a big problem anymore.
