Could you stop implying that tables like to turn? Tables take pride in being stationary load bearing fixtures.

Yes, different types. Including glacial erosion, core samples and other sediments. Some are interesting, most are unremarkable to the layman. To academics, they are interesting for the story they tell (shat out of parrotfish for example)
That said, there are many types of beach sand, and within a single stretch of beach, different types as well, segregated by depth for example. They are very interesting for the story behind them. Sort of like how “everyone is unique”.
The pictures that everyone is amazed at are relatively low magnification. If those grains were indeed so varied in their shape and colour, they would be easily visible to the naked eye.
That is very heavily curated to make every picture interesting. Take a scoop from your nearest beach and it doesn’t look anywhere near as dramatic. Sauce: I run a lab with fancy microscopes.
Your skin is infinitely more populated. Especially under your fingernails.

Be the change you want to see. Guillotines can be rendered airborne.
Well I think he achieved as much as can be done - brought to light the abuses of the gumint. It was up to the people to decide what to do with that information. Most, including you clearly, just didn’t care that everyone’s rights were, and are (even moreso today) being completely discarded.
It wasn’t on him to bring the abusers to justice or correct the system. That’s on the system. If it fails, it’s on the people to fix it.

So you could rename all your programs to start with a specific letter to call it and bypass this bug, but you’re limited to 26 or so (depending on your language settings and keyboard) unique programs.
Oh man that’s also terrible. Or a great way to launch 15 programs just by swiping through a list.
Why would it ever launch programs before a user has finished specifying? How would one ever run anything other than calculator?

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Open letter from The Document Foundatio about the Euro-Office announcement
1·25 days agoAlso PSA because I was confused: euro office is a fork of only office, of potentially Russian origin, whilst libre office is a fork of open office, of likely non Russian origin.
For those who care.

1·27 days agoMan it took me 3 days of re-reading to only now realize that there is OPENoffice that is forked to libre office, and ONLYoffice, which has strong russian origins.
Til that only-office is even a thing. Far too easy to misread when I wasn’t expecting only as a prefix to office. I’m sure I’m not the only one that got tripped up.
Also PSA: euro office isn’t a standalone offline office suite - it’s web based and doesn’t run standalone. Needs next cloud and quite a bit of setup to allow for that M$365 ‘experience’.
Cash has unique id to reach bill, which can be logged on withdrawal, final point of reentry system can be logged. Of course, everything in between is unclear. But with enough re-entries at various points in time, a fuzzy picture is possible. Especially with multiple sources of withdrawals going through a common mid point.

Let’s be specific - in what way should the intolerance of fascists manifest?
I’m not following your train of thought. What is the appropriate response? How do we remove facism?
Well then, the answer is clear - vote with your wallet.
