I’m just blocking all political/news communities on sight. It’s helped a lot.
I am the developer of Summit for Lemmy.

Ah so BDSM then /s

Kind of. A lot of my stuff is also on battery and the security camera and router is on UPS so during a power outrage I still have access to cameras, per room sensors and all the door and lock sensors. I would say ~50% of devices are still accessible.

Hook it up to a UPS and it basically has 100% uptime regardless of internet connectivity or power. I love how resilient it is.

Maybe but the process is really annoying. I have to backup my 4tb library, make the switch, if it doesnt work I have to revert.
I don’t have a spare 6tb drive either so i would need to buy one.
Besides, i already have a plex lifetime membership so most of the new changes do not affect me.
I could just risk it and do the upgrade raw, but I would be pretty upset if I lost my data due to the switch.

I don’t have time.
And then you spend 4 hours building from source /s

Another game thats similar to firewatch imo is “What remains of Edith Finch”

Yeah. Stupid questions should be posted to YesStupidQuestions.

Just restart the app every day /s

To ease your fear slightly, iCloud does give you a 30 day window of file history so you can undo an accident file deletion. This is pretty standard across cloud storage solutions.
I think for a SF based company 200 - 250k salary is typical for even a senior engineer.

Actually tru. Damn preprocessors.

To “fix” the memory leak, just restart your server every day with a cron job /s
Thank you everyone for the answers. After more reflection, unfortunately I’m going with Home Assistant simply because I already have the page open on every device. It’s not pretty but it’s already basically my “home page” so might as well as add to it instead of introducing a completely different service/page.
My toolbar is already full :/
Well there’s a few services that I really have no need for outside of my home so if I don’t need it, why expose it?
Maybe I’m missing something but I mostly just want some quick links to my services. I thought Grafana was mostly for graph/data driven dashboards?
Trying to get a release of Summit (!summit@lemmy.world) ready. I’ve been trying to catch back up after taking a month hiatus about 2 months ago and still playing catch up.
Been ignoring the community for too long so after this release will need to go tend to requests and bug reports. It’s a lot of work :/
