PyTorch in particular is literally just a dispatching front end for CUDA anyway. It’s actually an incredibly powerful tool for GPGPU development, and you will struggle to make faster GPU DSP by hand.

People making these arguments are just incredibly out of date. You can basically use python to trace super optimized GPU compute kernels and then drop them into whatever language you want via torchscript, onnx, trt, whatever.

They leaned into anti-woke stuff pretty hard, right as it was being used to radicalize men. I agree that some of the criticism from the left misses some of the nuance in some of the plots (eg, PC principal often being the voice of reason), but some of it is valid IMO. At best they were out of touch in a pretty harmful way. It’s good that they seem to be making an effort to repent with the recent seasons, but they definitely weren’t helping the situation for a solid decade before that.

The old point and shoot cameras didn’t really have better, or larger sensors. Phones are mediocre cameras compared to a DSLR or mirrorless camera in the hands of a skilled user. But I’d wager that most people would actually take better pictures with their phone than pro equipment.

Hell, if I ever end up in a hit and run, I’m half tempted to be like “idk, it happened so fast but I think the plate was [old boss’s plate].” Seems like open season on poison data with enough plausible deniability.
