Is that really that different?
The article doesn’t go into any length to explain the technology. But assuringly its just an encrypted passcode created with an algorithm using measured face data.
Crafting a secure reliable personal id based on pure visual appearance has been tricky and when this came out i disliked it but it was clearly a feat.
What is the story here?
Google trusting this technology?
Them adding age verification to it?
I am just confused what makes this enough of something to write/post it.

Did i just time travel or is this the feature i have been refusing to use on my phone for almost a decade?
Yeah November 2017; 8 years ago
Is this implemented very different technologically speaking?

The question i have,
The image is digital when it is uploaded. There is a fixed assortiment of pixels only differentiated by the contrast of shades of grey.
The instructions say to colorise.
In my head this means every pixel needs to obtain a color value, while still matching contrast with pixels around it.
What ai does instead is provide an entirely newly constructed image made up from entirely new pixels which show “google deepdream” patterns.
This is from the final result where the author was “happier” with the result and asked what i assume is an llm to not invent information that isn’t there. (Zoom in)

This is not what i would call a colorisation, it’s a colorised re-creation. I imagine a real colorisation as simply a layer of color values that combine with the exact pixels of the digital scan. Disabling that layer (using photo software) should return the exact digital original and turning the final colorisation into a black and white filter should still leave it nearly identical to the original. Anything else is a recreation for fun and fantasy purposes only.
To vent, i am so glad we convinced someone in the family not to use the “ai enhanced” version for a loved ones official funeral picture.

Paid twice.
US citizens paid Nintendo for raising its prices on them… and the wild part is that it’s not even the corporations exact fault.
The system is designed to have capitalism win.

If i recall it was as an example of how “ai” can be more then just llm chatbots. I thought the com was specifically against llms but they didn’t like general machine learning either.
Long time ago though.

I one got banned from an anti ai com for mentioning video game npc ai.

I am sorry but It actually kinda looks to me like an ai generated advertisement for this persons book. The adapted from makes me think its not the original text which genuinely feels uncanny and convoluted like ai does.
Are we sure this person is directly involved or was ai generated self authored articles part of the small print of a advertisement contract.
Or are we sure that their qualifications make them really immune to make use of ai like this.
Technically speaking its all drugs for everyone all the way down.
Even besides the fact that mood and emotions are largely controlled by endocannabinoids. The difference between normal chemicals, medical chemicals and drug ones is a cultural distinction.
The reason we suspect the pineal gland is cause it has all the ingredients…
Which it also needs to produce the sleep molecule melatonin. Which is a triptomine.
The theory is that it shifts over to producing a large amount of dmt twice, at birth, and at death. (If i recall correctly)
That might just be a flavor autism honestly,
Source: i have one of these flavours of autism. People have often judged me for being high while i know there where no drugs were involved.
Autistic people can produce some of the best types of satire. So i am saying both.
It doesn’t need to be, there is reasonable proof that humans and other mammals naturally synthesises (trace amounts off) dmt, which are presumed to be used and broken down incredibly quickly. We still don’t know why, what its used for or have hard proof where its produced (pineal gland is main suspect for having all ingredients in theory)
In theory something could trigger an effect that stops it from breaking down or produce it at a faster rate, therefore triggering psychedelics effects with out the consumed substance containing anything psychedelic itself.
Dmt is known for seeing (machine) elves, does not sound that far away from seeing mini people.
I dont really know these things but i always just assumed rye (and barely) was just a kind of wilder less domesticated wheat.
The official Minecraft website has an article about a public, private server run by reporters without borders.
https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/uncensored-library
https://www.uncensoredlibrary.com/en
For obvious reasons many copies of this server And predecessors that existed/may operate within oppressive areas do not advertise their existence online.
Wiki entry of minecraft china edition.

Free to download
Friends system, with live text chat support
The argument about minecraft chat being inherently insecure is a straw-man at best. A private server, whitelisted for my own household that runs on hardware that i own is just as secure as any other speech that happens in my living room.
There is no reason for microsoft to have the ability to steal logs to moderate it. And this is why almost every respectable server i know uses plugins to block that shit.
The one where any random player can report another for any reason and have a portion of the chatlog (without consent of any others) send to Microsoft.
For reference i have some members on my adult server who like to joke sell sugar as cocaine. There is no info on what actually counts to ban-able, it might just be ai that decides at this point.
Also there used to be secret library Minecraft servers in china with banned books and thats why there is a separate chinese Minecraft edition now with social media features and all players are identified with all chats monitored.
“Just don’t type anything private” is not an argument i expect seeing on a privacy community either. Sounds a lot like “if you have nothing to hide”
In that case, it seems i am guilty of piracy already, guess i might as well start indulging.
Were not meant to feel sorry for this person.
This is not an emotion triggering article. Its a n information warning.
The apps some use to send private messages can call the cops on you if an ai gets context wrong. Kinda a big deal.
