Hello, I’m debating a “wester leftist” (sigh) that think rojava is basically a paradise. I’m looking for sources on the whole “rojava stealing oil” thing.

    For one thing the territory belongs to the Syrian Arab Republic and so does the oil on it. Also they’re US proxies, they’re backed and armed by Washington (until they are no longer useful in which case the US abandons them to get rolled over by Turkey).

    If they were actually as based as “western leftists” think then they wouldn’t be supported by the US, they would be getting demonized and denounced.
