Replaying Sniper Elite 5 (again)
About to start Dishonored (again) after getting a free copy from AmazonPlayed Dishonored 2 before going back to the first one again?
Back on my Elite: Dangerous bullshit again with the latest update. Power play overhaul adds some new stuff to do and a reason to do it, while removing a lot of the downsides.
Damn, I have yet to play a good space game…
Looks scornfully at Starfield.
While I enjoy it and have several thousand hours logged at this point, I hesitate to actively recommend it. I feel like it’s on an upswing, but it’s still flawed. A lot of mechanics are opaque, the learning curve is a sheer cliff face, and there’s about a decade of cruft, bugs, workarounds and technical debt. That said, most of the updates since Odyssey have been a net improvement IMO, and the community is, for the most part, actually really welcoming and supportive.
Ah, fair enough.
I’ll keep this all in mind.
I played Elite Dangerous a lot. Its tough to get into but i feel like the economy is much better now. Like when i first started making money was a pain but now they’ve added a few new ways to do it that arent as grindy. I do exploration mostly so its a space flight simulator where i just go land on random planeta and moons and visit pretty places to see the views. Never done combat much so i cant comment on it but it does exist and has a big following.
There’s a new one, right? Or am I thinking of the old game from the late 1990s to early 2000s?
Elite Dangerous is newer its like a full simulation of the milky way and has a big background simulation its an MMO kinda but i play in single player mode lol.
I should also play No Man’s Sky but I don’t know if it’s truly just a “cozy” space sim where you can just do stuff without objective.

…Err, answer it?
Gamers rise up
Pikmin rise up
Spoiler that shit. It’s long.
Oof
Been playing Deadlock as my main game since I started back in August and been enjoying it. Looking forward to Monster Hunter Wilds in February. Really enjoyed the beta but worried about performance in the full game, cuz it wasn’t great in the beta.
Wilds looks like fun but I’m skipping it because Capcom decided to shit it up with Denuvo
Monster Hunter Wilds is probably set to be my first foray into the series.
It’s a good time to jump in cuz they’re definitely trying to make it easier for beginners to start. I myself started with Rise but I’m interested in playing a main line game with more grounded mechanics.
That’s good. To be honest, I like beginner-friendly games. I don’t really like “git gud”-type games.
There’s a new expansion pack for factorio. Factorio is not for everyone, but whoever gets it gets a cheap per hour entertainment.
Sounds 'ight.
Hades 2 has made me realize that I’m not good at Rogue-lite games. I finished the original Far Cry (meh). I intend to play far cry 4 and maybe 5.
I unironically loved Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4.
I’m finishing Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow probably either tonight or tomorrow, another really fun game! I don’t know if I like it more or less than Symphony of the Night yet. I think it did some stuff better, like I think the soul system is a lot more enjoyable than having to hunt around the castle for sub-weapons if you want a specific one. I like that there’s more types of weapons too, but I ended up just using the normal swords the whole time because I liked being able to cancel the attack by landing too much lol.
I’m not sure what’s next yet! I really wanted to play Dark Souls II, but I’d like to play the vanilla version, and I don’t have $40 to spend on a game right now. I’d usually just pirate it, but I want to be able to play online too so I guess I have to be patient. Hopefully it goes on sale sometime soon. Otherwise I don’t have anything specific in mind. Maybe I can finally get around to Final Fantasy VI? I’ve been wanting to give Metal Gear Solid 2 another try as well now that I can emulate the PS3 version.
Damn, I want to play the original Kojima games.
I had to look it up, I’m surprised that vanilla DS2 PC servers are back online, considering they shut down the console servers, and also considering that DS1 Prepare to Die Edition never had their online restored.
Yep it still averages like 200 players online. Probably not even worth it to be honest, but I don’t know, I really enjoy the online in these games so I’d like to try at least. I’m a little worried I won’t run in to anybody, but when I played Demon’s Souls PS3 there was usually only like 10-20 people online through RPCN and I still managed to get invaded and invade, never co-op though sadly.
I downloaded and played some DS2 online last night, got a little PvP action but I didn’t see any summon signs. I left one down for a few different bosses but didn’t have any luck getting summoned sadly
oh cool! thanks for letting me know. too bad you weren’t able to find anyone to summon you, but good to know there’s still some pvp’ers at least. i might just end up pirating it after all, and if the game goes on sale i can just start another character if i really want to.
Ghost of Tsushima on steam deck, baldurs gate 3 on the big rig. Balatro on the phone. All three games are so very fun.
Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam Deck is great, imho
Oh, and Balatro on mobile is great too, of course.
Just got done with the story of Arkham Asylum. Working on the challenges now! Though, I see I’m not as good at combat as I thought lol. At least the stealth challenges were a cakewalk!
Probably going to start up Arkham City once I’m done and keep this ball rolling.
Hell yea! Can’t wait until you get to Arkham Knight. I did a full Arkham (minus Arkham Origins, the red-headed stepchild of the series) a month ago just in time to finish around Halloween, and it was even better than I remembered, it’s extremely rewarding to play on the hardest difficulty, if you’ve beaten it before try the New Game + with Knightmare difficulty, it’s honestly not as hard as it sounds and makes you feel so much more badass throwing enemies and doing Never Shot Never Seen Stealth segments
Yeah, awesome
School has taken up most of my “gaming time” so I haven’t done much of it. The most recent game I have played is Fields Of Mistria which is like Stardew Valley but with a 90s anime aesthetic and magic. It’s in early access on steam and it’s really fun. I also of course have been playing Stardew valley, especially since the new update recently came out for switch, and Mario Kart 8DX. Once the semester is over I will play Disco Elysium and some other games I have yet to start. I don’t really have a favourite genre except I seem to gravitate towards fantasy and life type games I guess. Chill games with things to do, expect Mario kart is anything but chill. I also like Zelda.
There is only one game I am looking forward to but there has been no clear release date: Haunted Chocolatier, which is made by the same guy who created Stardew, ConcernedApe.
I hope one day I can get a steam deck so I can play all my games away from my computer. I actually prefer handheld and I think I’d play more game if I had the means.
Tbh, I won’t have much gaming time left with my new upcoming job with FedEx. And yeah, I’m also gravitating toward “cozy games,” which is what you seem to describe. Take care. Also, damn, I want Haunted Chocolatier. Fields of Mistria is another good “cozy game.” And play the new Zelda game; it’s the best one in a while, better than Tears of the Kingdom (which isn’t saying much).
I’m almost finished playing Zelda: Wind Waker for the first time in about 10 years.
Firstly it feels crazy to me that its now been as long since the HD Wii U version was released as it was from that release to the original.
Great game though, amazed I still remember where almost everything is. Exploring the ocean in the first half of the game has always been one of my favorite parts. It does a great job of capturing a whimsical sense of adventure for me.
My biggest criticism of the game is that it feels like its about 2 dungeons light. There should have been one on the Great Fish Island for the last pearl before you get the Master Sword and there should have been one more after that with a 3rd sage.
I remember this being commonly held belief back in the day that the game was probably a bit rushed, but it definitely sticks out more to me now than I had recalled.
Overall still one of my favorite Zelda games, I hope one day they go back to making this sort of style of 3D Zelda because the new ones just don’t do it for me.
Yeah, Wind Waker is one of those Zelda games I think fondly of.
More so than Twilight Princess, though it’s arguably the better game.
Though Wind Waker just felt more fun and explorative.
Enlisted. USSR main grindset
Enlisted? What’s that?
Free to play tactical FPS where you control a squad instead of a person. When one character you control dies, you switch to another member of your squad. This allows for big battles. You can drive tanks, planes, etc. too, if I’m not mistaken.
Sounds like my jam.
I haven’t played it, but I have some friends who do and they say it’s super fun.
Might put it on my list then.
multiplayer game, first-person-shooter, you control one specialized squad (mostly infantry squads), and you try along with other squads of your faction to complete game objectives (capture/defense/destruction) against the enemy faction.

Thanks for participating all those that were in the last thread of its kind.
I’m just pinging everyone from there as I usually do.
I was playing gta iv before my hand got injuried
OOF
How much and how soon will it recover?
I don’t know how long it seems to be healing on it’s own. I also have a sprained foot and conjectvitus in my eyes I never get a damn break !
Damn, that fucking sucks. I have an astygmatism in my eye that’s very bad and never stops bothering me.
@Makan I was playing Drova an Indie game that people were calling " 2D Gothic" I’m liking it so far.
That sounds interesting!
I have yet to play Gothic remake (which I plan to be my very first Gothic game over the original version).
