I’m taking a dual-boot route, it does have it’s issues. Unfortunately due to work related and gaming reasons I can’t let go of it just yet.

I went with Linux Mint and I’ve been happy as Larry since I got used to it. But distro hop until you find your fit I’d say, I had spare hardware I was distro-hopping with and Mint just fit me best I think.

You’re spot on with Ventoy, it’s a huge boon. I only recently became aware of it, absolutely love it already. I highly recommend giving it a go.

I get where you’re coming from, however I reckon he’s doing a huge public service in this regard, imagine someone just happens to click on one of his vids and learns how scummy corpos are. That’s why I believe he should continue with these callouts, but yeah I’d like to see more actual repair stuff in future.

I thought exactly the same thing, as previously though, I was willing to swallow the $8 (at the time) in order to use my tablet for coding (may as well be a laptop running android tbh).

I was happy to swallow it to code on the go, but I only used it for a few weeks. Sometimes I lay in bed to code though so I can watch TV as well (never mind all the errors I make as a result).

I’ve got a Lenovo P11, goes pretty well on a charge, and VSCode is available on android, haven’t used it much as I almost always code at home now.

I’m not sure this will help, though I’ll suggest anyway that you poke around looking for (I hope I got this right) “rkdevtool”, I believe you can get it from somewhere in the Orangepi tools, I found it while looking into putting orangepi os (droid) onto it.

Do let me know how you go, I have a copy if you can’t find it that I’m happy to share. I haven’t yet tried it so I can’t speak to whether or not it works.

I’m actually attempting to convert my windows install into a VM these past few days, it’s most of the way there now, just need to get the VM to actually boot from that drive.

It was my original intent upon switching to Linux that I would VM my windows, however only in the last few days of trying (read: failing) to get mods for a few games working under proton, that I’ve really upped my effort.

If there are any resources you recommend, I’m all ears.
