If you watch the guys over at hexbear and lemmy.ml thats a good thing because censorship is good, because it secures societal peace. I wonder how they explain that thousands of people use these tools then.
Its not open source, but if you really want to you can use an offline version. In this case no data gets shared at all.
I use Typewise. A swiss company, by far the best keyboard layout and they don’t use any data from what you type.

How does this happen? Isn’t the database encrypted? Did they use a weak masterpassword?
I use FF on android for a couple months now. Solid browser and sync to desktol and add blocker are nice.
BUT: their page reloading is far too aggressive. You can’t buy anything online, since once 2FA is required and you need to open your bank app, confirm, and switch back, the page reloads and the 2FA didn’t get through. Tickets and such are the only reason I have still chrome installed.
