One time I complained about a response I got in a separate post and then that person found me and responded again.
I wasn’t even mad, that’s good dedication.

Yeah, I think it makes waaay more sense to complain about US politics infecting all of social media.
Reading the comments here made me realize something.
It’s nice to have good content for niche communities that you enjoy but that’s always been a tall order. As in, a lot of things have to go right to get that organic community feeling and I’ve honestly always thought of it as a privilege and not a right.
I’ve seen plenty of communities die for various reasons or just been in a position where I didn’t have passion to go and talk about my niche interests.
So what’s my point? Niche communities are the icing on the cake of a good platform. When we mostly have for profit platforms and little main stream interest in standardized alternatives, you got to be more realistic.
A lot of people want that, it’s not that easy to find and it never was.
We just got spoiled by the good days of the internet.
I didn’t get a wall of voids and honestly, I feel a little left out lol.
Sorted by controversial, wish me luck boys!
Most platforms are echo chambers but this one is a chamber without many conservatives.
Okay I’m a big supporter of Linux but this is misinformation.
Windows 11 LTSC install was the easiest install I’ve ever done, even easier than mint (or as easy).
The image I used even asked me the username when I was creating the bootable usb so I would save some time.
It also let me opt out of data collection and the rest of the bloatware.
Came with office and it was pre activated.
Now, if only that’s what Microsoft offered their mainstream consumer…
Edit: I don’t understand the downvotes. My last sentence does point out that Microsoft doesnt intentionally make it easier but imo we shouldn’t circle jerk by just claiming things that can easily be false.
Microsoft is waaay easier to avoid than fucking google. Is one drive that annoying?
I’m more and more a fan of keeping my devices without any internet connection.
This is where I am too. Just built a new gaming pc and was planning to do dual boot.
Installed windows 11 LTSC and honestly, it’s everything I want in a gaming pc so I guess no need to install Linux.
Having said that, I bought a pc that came with windows; can’t wait to kill it with fire!
Although I agree in spirit, there is a bloatfree version of windows 11 called LTSC.
Makes me one happy windows user.
Yeah, I honesty call bullshit on a 78 year old constantly eating McDonald’s.
Oh wow, I was wrong, we are close to AGI.
/s
Oh yeah, I really liked desktop mode.
Went a little crazy with my deck and setup things like remote play to my ps5 and a dev environment in case I wanted to do some coding on the go.
I did get some games working, but it wasn’t plug and play like windows, sounds like it just takes some tinkering which is great to hear.
So I tried to get a couple games working on my steam deck that didn’t work at all. I do remember trying to run thing with wine, but just gave up and installed the game on a windows computer.
So would I just google Lutris and go from there?
I found a torrent that had windows 11 LTSC, pre activated and with office.
When I made the bootable usb, it had options where I could just opt out of the data collection and all that so it wouldn’t even show that during install.
Pretty good experience. Feels weird to say that about a Microsoft product.
There are dozens of us, dozens!!
Similar to what others have said but with a slightly different take:
Fast foods have fortified themselves as the backup plan in everyday life.
Some people, including me at some point, have accepted that they are gonna have a meal or two a week when a busy day happens and no leftover is in the fridge.
Thankfully ive learned that as long as you don’t leave it to the last minute, you can probably do a decent take out.
Yeah, it’s almost weird that it’s news.
Imagine if they made news after a big fight about people who gambled and lost.
Imo the bigger news is the financial illiteracy of the average person.
