I understand why people were mad it wasn’t made clear in the beginning. if it’s just people with ties to the war then it’s a good thing they did.

Only those with ties to Russian Government? like govt jobs etc? or all?
Cosmic, just trying it out because i liked the extensions system76 made for gnome, and cosmic DE is more native experience of that.
I’m still waiting for the further instructions they promised to send by mail lol
I use both but windows 11 has been generally stable and visual artifact free for me even more than windows 10. Like i have never seen BSOD on 11 yet but on 10 it was regular.
Btw did you tweak it to remove bloat and crapware? Windows will break if you do it even if the bloat removing tool call it stable.
missed opportunity to say Mozilla FireFOSS
I actually don’t know shit about programming, but I learned to use Linux just by reading manuals, wiki and forums for specific problems. Like everything you will have to put in effort to learn something new, and there are plenty of sources which explains the linux way for beginners. if you have the time for it, it is really fun to read wiki because most times you will discover cool things you could do with linux you didn’t even knew you wanted. I did break my linux many times as i was learning to use it but everytime i broke it i learned something new so if you break your linux just take it as a learning experience.
‘karma’ has the same use here just as in reddit imo. it buries your post/comment but it is not as amplified as on reddit only because of the rate of new content made in lemmy. And when the mods get tired of modding in the future they would just bot it based on … votes.
iirc someone already made a moderation bot for that.
I do not hate the concept of lemmy and the fediverse, But I’m also not going to pretend that lemmy at its current state isn’t a circle jerk. Lemmy needs more diverse groups of people. Like GrammerPolice said above, most people who migrated from reddit were people with very strong stance on their opinions. And there’s intense hostility to anything that is even slightly against what they believe in.
Find me easier to access niche communities
Have fun trying to discuss anything that isn’t about linux, american politics or reddit/amazon/elon bad!!. Lemmy is just a decentralized circle jerk.
