there’s a really good youtube documentary i watched which actually got into the tools and software used, but I can’t find it anymore. either way, you can’t dress up humans coding as AI. it’s not fast enough.

manjaro has had a lot of drama and problems in the past and i don’t think it’s really a good distro to use. they forgot to renew their ssl certificate multiple times, they break software due to their weird update strategy (they use custom repos which hold back updates mostly arbitrarily for a week) which breaks dependencies and sometimes breaks the entire system, and their gui package manager once overwhelmed the AUR with traffic.
a better alternative with an easy gui installer would be endeavouros or cachyos. endeavour is basically manjaro except competent and with regular arch packages. cachy has its own repos (in order to build specialized versions of packages), but it keeps in sync with the regular arch repos.
though of course if manjaro is working for you that’s great and any amount of linux use is good. manjaro is just a bit temperamental. i also understand that some people can’t just distrohop, for example because they don’t have a separate home partition, or not enough space to copy important files elsewhere before wiping their partitions.

I love wearing IEMs, but I know people struggle with them. Some people’s ears are interestingly shaped which makes iems difficult to use unless you find more specialized eartips. Some people also react almost allergically (or actually allergically, with swelling and all) to silicone eartips, though some also react poorly to hard plastic buds. There are different grades and types of silicone that might cause less of a reaction in your ears, it depends on the kind of aftermarket eartips you get. For me the first few weeks with IEMs caused some amount of pain as my ears adjusted to having something inside, and I don’t think there’s a way to tell when pain is no good and when pain means you can still adjust, but I adjusted and now they’re perfectly comfy. I also got wireless earbuds with silicone eartips late last year, and those still cause some amount of pressure regardless of how they’re inserted into my ears. The plastic housing just doesn’t fit my ears very well, and the nozzle is very shallow compared to wired IEMs. I had a similar thing going on with the airpods pro 2 and another set of chinese wireless buds, so I think that’s a curse that applies to me with a wide variety of wireless earbuds. Just my 2 cents.

they already had a mod manager that they worked on for years that worked on linux. i used it in december for cyberpunk and stardew valley and it worked better than vortex. they discontinued it a few days ago.

but it’s also difficult to permanently change something in our bodies. just about everything only has a temporary effect. life is incredibly dynamic and everything changes over time.
i use bash but i also use atuin which makes shell history so much neater. that’s about the only convenience i need in a terminal shell.
