I originally used Keepass, but then I managed to convince my wife to use a password manager and needed something more user friendly. I switched to LastPass until they started charging, now we’re on Bitwarden

I only use Edge for Microsoft Rewards

It may be against the Ts&Cs, but you can use a User Agent changing extension in Firefox (or your browser of choice) to trick it into thinking it is Edge. You can also switch to a mobile user agent, should you need to ;)

This does seem to be a US centric problem, I don’t know anyone who still uses SMS, everyone seems to use Facebook Messenger/WhatsApp/Telegram/Signal here
